1925 :
- Stays in Monte-Calo with the Ballets Russes.
- Takes part in the first Surrealist exhibition at the Galerie Pierre in Paris with Arp, De Chirico, Max Ernst, Paul Klee, André Masson and Joan Miro.
- “THE KISS” and “The Dance” mark a stylistic renewal and the end of Neo-classicism.
- Beginning of the metamorphoses of female bodies, especially bathers.
1926 :
- Beginning of his friendships with publisher Christian Zervos who founds the magazine Cahier d’Art.

- Meets Marie-Therese Walter.

- The magazine Documents publishes a special issue about Picasso.
- New studio in Boisgeloup, in the North West of Paris, enables him to work actively on sculpture.

- Receives the Carnegie Prize for “Profile of Olga”.
