Picasso, 1969-1973, the end of the beginning
This exhibition organized in June 2023 at the Antibes museum by its director, Jean-Louis Arnal, takes up the last two exhibitions of the Clementine chapel of the Palais des Papes in Avignon which took place in 1970 and 1973. The paintings are hung without frame , directly on the walls and "touch-touch", like what the installations will become later. At 90, Picasso reinvented his painting with a sort of urgency and embarked on a frenzy of painting, exuberant, poetic, fresh.
